A new trailer for the forthcoming Sacha Baron Cohen film, The Dictator was just released and it offers a really different take on the movie than I originally thought. Up until this point the film looked like it was going to fall into the lineage of previous Cohen films like Borat and Bruno where Cohen relied on losing himself in character and surprising people with a reality movie style.
However, this trailer shows the film is headed in a different direction as a scripted show and other actors. Cue Anna Farris, Ben Kingsley, Megan Fox, John C. Reilly, Jason Mantzoukas, and JB Smoove for a fish out of water flick. So it’s more Coming To America than it is Borat 2.
