  • Are “In Living Color” and “The Flintstones” re-boots dead in the water?

If you can subtly read between the lines, the President of FOX may have stated that the much ballyhooed re-boots of In Living Color and The Flintstones are over before they even began.

In front of the Television Critics Association Monday night, FOX Entertainment President made mention between American Idol, Glee, and The Mindy Kaling Project chatter that both the re-boot of In Living Color and the Seth MacFarlane re-boot of The Flintstones are both not planning on airing any time soon. Though the network seems committed to bringing new comedy to its network, it just might be going for something original at this point.

Stephen Merchant is keeping up his long term relationship with HBO for the producer (The Office, An Idiot Abroad, Life’s Too Short) just had a new pilot, Hello Ladies, ordered by the network.

Merchant is slated to executive produce, write, and star in the show which he’ll portray an English lad looking for love in Los Angeles and is infatuated with the city’s polarizing world of beautiful people, which he’ll desperately attempt to crack. He wrote the pilot with Office writer-producers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky. HBO will produce the project with ABC Studios.

Judging just by the trailer, “Bachelorette” seems terrible

On paper, I should love Bachelorette. The trailer says something different.

It has some very funny people in it – Isla Fisher is a fave, loved her in Wedding Crashers. Rebel Wilson was hilarious as one half of the creepy brother/sister roommate combo in Bridesmaids. And Lizzy Caplan… well don’t get me started on my adoration of her. Ever since I saw her in Mean Girls and all of her cancelled shows since I’ve rooted for her. I’ll even admit, I watched True Blood for her story arc and hoped she stuck around some more in New Girl.

The male cast seems equally competent – Adam Scott (who, with Kaplan will make a mini Party Down reunion) James Marsden, and mister can’t-catch-a-TV-series-break himself Kyle Bornheimer. Read the rest of this entry
