The comedy coming from Just For Laughs festival in Chicago has been intense as Wednesday night was nothing less than remarkable.

Eric Andre opened for the powerful Amy Schumer as he created the initial energy inside the Park West Theatre. Eric started many of his jokes calm and collected which usually escalated into yells and sprints around stage. His liveliness was magnetic as the crowd released their laughs during the craziest parts of his routine.

Earlier in the week when he was on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon I saw him perform a joke which he repeated at the Park West in Chicago. It’s cool though because the audience was filled with working middle class Caucasians who never heard his original delivery. Eric had the crowd laughing at the text messages his ex-fling’s boyfriend sent him, check out what I’m talking about here.

Eric brought the heat and warmed up the mic for the very funny Amy Schumer.

It was clear that it was some of the audiences first time seeing Amy and that’s their problem. She acknowledged that audience members originally assume she is going to talk about shopping but they are quickly fooled when she starts ranting about her lady parts.

Amy provided great entertainment for over an hour as it was great watching how the couples in attendance reacted. I saw folks laughing their ass off (along with myself) then I also noticed newlywed’s become uneasy because they never discussed taboo topics like abortion or anal. Amy took no prisoners as she delivered a hilarious hour long set.

Her points of views were refreshing for all the working stiffs in the audience. “The Plan B contraceptive pill is actually my Plan A. I take it the night before, I plan ahead” she said with a straight face.

Dressed in tall high heels she called attention to her shoes mid-set, “I’m practicing on how to walk around in these things because I’m filming a new one hour special next week.”

She had no problem moving around on her stilts as she illustrated how younger drunken chicks look after an “unsuccessful” night at the club. Amy nailed it as she called attention to these train wrecks, “Their face melting with tears and mascara, puke covering their neon tube top, I want to ask what your goal was for the night?”

I think newlywed couples should contract Amy as psychologist or marriage counselor to help both parties recognize if they are wasting each other’s time. Her insights were true and spot on. Amy was a flipping joy to watch (again) and I can’t wait to see her new special.
