Jimmy Fallon hosted Saturday Night Live while Justin Timberlake co-hosted
I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again. The Christmas episode of Saturday Night Live is always a blast. It’s usually chock full of celebs, cameos, and brings back a lot of old favorites. On that scorecard Jimmy Fallon (and Justin Timberlake) nailed their hosting duties of SNL this weekend. I connect those two together because, if you told me they were co-hosting the night, I doubt anyone would’ve disagreed with you. From the cold opening to the final sketch JT played more than a passing role in the evening. Sometimes the musical guest appears in a sketch or two but Timberlake (and this is not a complaint) pulled just as many laughs over the course of the evening as Fallon. To not call it a team effort would be wrong. Between his late night show and SNL, Fallon and Timberlake have teamed up for many big moments. Their comedic timing is already N’sync (sorry, couldn’t help myself).
With that being said, if Lorne and co. were to have one of these two host the Christmas episode of the show for the next 5 years, I doubt anyone would be upset about this. In fact, it’s probably not a bad idea because the ratings hit a 2 year high.
