San Francisco’s Sketchfest 2012 Comedy Lineup Is Here

December 13, 2011      Lonnie Nemiroff      Festivals, SF Sketchfest       Comments

Move over South by Southwest, Lollapalooza, Coachella and all other festivals trying to resurrect 1969’s Woodstock because San Francisco’s Sketchfest 2012 is coming on through and this comedy festival is only concerned with spreading laughter, not hippie trends. So, put aside your peace and love accessories and just show up from January 19th to February 4th to SF Sketchfest with an unfaltering smile.

Celebrating its 11th year as the most prestigious comedy festival on the West Coast, SF Sketchfest 2012 is bringing in the heavy hitters. Boasting a roster of talent that will satiate any comedy fan’s dreams. Names like Drew Cary, Paul Rudd, Jennifer Coolidge, Chris Elliott, Will Forte, Elliott Gould, Sally Kellerman, John Hodgman, Amy Poehler, David Cross, Bob Odenkirk, Kevin Smith, Reggie Watts, Fred Willard, Laraine Newman, Marc Maron, Rachel Dratch, the creators of Wet Hot American Summer, John Slattery, Bruce McCulloch, Christopher Meloni, The Upright Citizens Brigade, The Groundlings, the geeks behind w00tstock, and many more to fifteen venues over seventeen nights in San Francisco. For clarification purposes and to strength the opening argument, w00tstock and Woodstock have as much in common as Britney Spears and Jimi Hendrix. Music is involved in both events, but the means to express the art are entirely different.

SF Sketchfest tickets went on sale this past Sunday and range from $10 to $75. For ticket information and to see the festival’s complete lineup, head to their website.
