Cool thing to buy this week: “The Big Lebowski” steelbook

Big Lebowski SteelboxRoll up a joint and mix yourself a White Russian, because this week, The Dude abides with the release of Steelbook edition of The Big Lebowski. The Steelbook release of the 1998 cult classic comes in a metal case so it can be kept as a keepsake (it really ties the room together) and has the film in DVD, Blu-ray, digital copy, and Ultraviolet, which is a cloud-based movie storage service. The actual film is also cloud based, but that is a different kind of cloud entirely.

The Big Lebowski, written and directed by The Coen Brothers, stars Jeff Bridges as Jeff “The Dude” Lebowski, a slacker who is interrupted from his life of bowling and smoking weed when he is tapped to deliver a ransom payment to save the wife of a millionaire, also named Jeff Lebowski. The intelligent, funny, and insanely quotable film even inspired “Dudeism,” a religion based on the philosophy the movies titular character. If you’ve seen it, you’ll know why this is a good buy, and if not, it’s time to watch it.
