The current story running on This American Life is an interesting one. The show follows around a group of 13/14 year old kids as they take up shop at Gotham Comedy Club in NYC and practice their stand-up at Camp Kids and Comedy. A program I wish my parents knew existed when I was 13, ’cause I had some killer fart jokes at that age.
But with the typical TAAL angle, they find the most interesting thing about the camp and talk about that, and I have to say this kid Luke, well, he’s far more advanced than I think I am currently.
Why would a thirteen or fourteen-year-old want to get up on a stage? Teenage boys practice stand-up at Camp Kids and Comedy. Luke exposes himself as a unique young comedian, able to to look at the big issues going on in today’s world, question them, and then still poke fun at himself.[Current TV]
