Artie Lange Is Making A Return To Radio Tonight!
UPDATE: 11:30am (7.7.11) During the broadcast of the show Lange and DiPaolo covered a wide variety of topics, mostly sports. Lange did disclose that he was in a rehab facility in Florida, DiPaolo mentioned a few times on the air that he looked much better and thinner. Agent Tony Burton tweeted this photo of the two in the studio in which Lange definitely looked thinner and with lighter hair.
The two covered topics like the death of Clarence Clemons from his beloved E Street Band. Lange stated, he wouldn’t want to be the replacement saxophone player’s shoes. Especially when it came to playing the “Born To Run” solo for the first time live, “I’d boo.” He joked.
They also discussed the hot button Casey Anthony trial in which Lange stated “I was outraged by the verdict, I don’t think she lied to police.” He jokingly adding, “I would date her in a second. I think it would be good publicity…She’s the perfect girl if you don’t want kids.”
When a caller asked about Lange’s future on the Stern Show, he played a PC answer, (hopefully holding out to divulge more on Stern’s show itself). Lange said that he loved everyone over there, and returning to the show would be, “the greatest thing ever but, you know, listen–I was on the greatest show of all time for about nine years and I put them in a very awkward situation to say the least. So, what am I gonna do? But, I love them all and they were great to me and I appreciate that.”
Lange also mentioned he was working on a second book.
What might be missing in all of this (as of the time of this update) might be the lack of chatter from anyone on Stern’s camp. While true that he’s on vacation and it’s not required of him to have a comment, people would be curious to know his thoughts. A quick scan of the Twitter accounts of Stern’s cast of characters shows them all not saying mentioning much about the event other than a couple direct responses to fans saying “I didn’t listen yet”. Howard Stern must have his people trained well, because I’m sure this will be a topic he’d like to discuss once he gets back from vacation and he wants them to save it for the air.

PREVIOUSLY: Artie Lange has pretty much been in seclusion since his attempted suicide in the early days of 2010. Making only one stand-up appearance and offering minimal details to the folks at The Howard Stern Show where he was the co-host for many years after the departure of Jackie Martling.
Now, just by random chance we’ve discovered that Lange will be getting back on the radio and talking to a bigger audience than just the lucky few who happened to be at the Comedy Cellar last September. Tonight at 10pm Lange will get on the FOX Sports Radio with fellow comedian Nick DiPaolo as the pair will fill in for DJ, Tony Bruno. DiPaolo’s also been long absent from the radio since his Free FM days in New York.
Between 10pm-1am EDT the pair will get on the air and talk sports. Something tells me the duo will be fielding calls besides just sports. Either way, it would be great to hear Lange back on the radio and hopefully he’ll provide some insight to his current status in life and perhaps maybe on the Stern Show, which is on vacation this week.
