The Campaign takes a box office win for comedy films
It’s been a summer of some pretty uneven comedy movies success. There’s been less Ted-like highs and way more lows like The Watch and The Dictator. However, this is not the case for Zach Galifianakis and Will Ferrell for their heavy-marketed movie The Campaign held its own in it’s box office opening weekend.
The Campaign came in second behind The Bourne Identity reboot making $26.5M in the box office. Giving it one of the best opening weekends for a comedy this summer. Granted, it’s a bit less for the average Will Ferrell film, but a great win for a political-based film and one of the few bright spots on the summer movie stage for comedies.
