Center Stage: Ron Yavnieli

by Matt on September 9, 2010

Impressionists are sometimes hard to take seriously, anyone who claims to be one has a Christopher Walken or Jack Nicholson in their arsenal. But do they have Ray Ramano doing Darth Vader? What about James Earl Jones describing the idiosyncrasies of race behavior? The short answer to this is “no” no, they don’t. Enter Ron Yavnieli, a bi-coastal stand-up and talented voice actor.

In addition to working clubs like The Improv, The Comedy Store, Pasadena Ice House, Jon Lovitz Comedy Club, and the HaHa Café; he’s an accomplished animation artist and voice actor who’s done work in cartoons, video games, ringtones, and the Oscar Nominated film, Waltz with Bashir.

I love Ron’s classic approach to impressions in absurd, nerdy contexts. I want him to do an impression of “Master Vader” in his meditation chamber… when he’s all alone and goes online.
