    Andrew WK Drum-athon

Andrew W.K. has set a new world record after his grueling 24 consecutive hours of drumming inside of Times Square’s Oakley store. He was joined by numerous guest drummers including, ?uestlove, Chad Smith, Cuba Gooding Jr., Nick Jonas, Zac Hanson, and even the Sklar Brothers. Here are some of the best moments from the record breaking achievement.

Cuba Gooding Jr. stopped by around the five hour mark because there clearly wasn’t enough cowbell! Watch this two minute clip from Gooding’s performance:

If you are from, or have ever visited New York City, you know that there is nothing you will not see. People from the City are a rare breed, like this guy, who put on a Statue of Liberty hat, pulled up his shirt, and starting smacking his large belly for ten minutes, all while having a regular cell phone conversation.

The Sklar Brothers are known more for their comedy rather than their drumming ability. But there is no better way to learn from the party master other than taking advantage of his 24 straight hours to gain some tips.

Unfortunately, we did not get to see Mr. Party’s pizza guitar, but we were able to see a very special guest appear with W.K. This is Lil Bub stopping buy to give Andrew some moral support at just under the 19 hour mark.

You can watch the countdown of the final ten seconds of the drumming marathon that was posted on Andrew W.K.’s instagram. While he was originally thought to have won the award for most consecutive hours playing drums in a retail store, it was recently learned that there was a drummer in California who played for 100 straight hours. Therefore, it was penciled in at the last moment that Andrew won the award for Longest Drum Session in a Retail Store in New York City.

No matter what the official name of the record is, he pulled off an extremely difficult task and anyone who is able to drum for a full day without stopping, definitely deserves to party as hard as he wants.
