  • Jason Bateman On Arrested Development Movie, Finds New Way To Say “Yeah, I Got Nothing”

So as part of the legal mandate as a comedy website to report on anything slightly related to Arrested Development, Jason Bateman added some (incredibly vague) info to what is becoming the Chinese Democracy of movies.

In an interview about Bateman’s new movie Paul, MTV’s Josh Horowitz asked the obligatory “so what’s the deal with the Arrested Development movie?” question. I am pretty sure now Bateman is just trying to screw with everyone since pretty much his answer can be summarized as another variation of saying “nothing changed,” with the exception that he was finally told the plot of the movie.

So almost six years after the show went off the air, one of the actors involved learned about the plot of the movie. Really?

The writers really need to shit or get off the pot with this thing. The show has already been off the air for twice as long as it has been on air (remember it only had three seasons), and it’s not like people’s attention spans are getting any longer. Plus every movie you let Michael Cera put between himself and the Arrested Development series finale, the better the chance that he will pull no show for the movie completely.

At the rate they’re going this movie might look less like the Serenity to AD’s Firefly and more like The Happy Days Reunion Special.

He’s got to be tired of being asked this question at this point no?
