One of the last free speech and widely accepted soapboxes on earth is stand-up comedy and there comes a time when discussion occurs because the automatic defense mechanisms are powered down through comedy. It allows us to take a step back and not be so defensive by getting caught up in harsh stances. It allows us to look at topics through a different light, a different set of eyes. Sometimes even revealing how silly one’s argument can be when you really break it down. Every time guns are brought to national attention because of shootings and unfortunate events, it seems nothing ever changes in the United States. However you feel about it, it’s the same argument from both sides. Then it gets political. Then the discussion ends. In this instance, Australian comedian Jim Jefferies gives us his opinion and view point about U.S. gun control. This clip is from his latest Netflix special entitled Bare which came out last year. Take a look, watch, and see what it’s like from someone else’s perspective. Remember, we are becoming a smaller world and more interconnected than ever. And he does one hell of an American accent to boot.
