John Mulaney and Lorne Michaels sold a pilot to NBC
Yes it’s true that during pilot season and we could spend the entire day posting stories about what’s going on. But rather than hit you with every piece of information that’s going on we’ll keep it to just the good stuff. This one, counts as good stuff – John Mulaney sold a pilot.
NBC has given the greenlight to a new multi-camera show developed by Mulaney and SNL Godfather Lorne Michaels. The currently untitled project will feature Mulaney as part of an ensemble cast and will be loosely based on his life. Mulaney wrote the pilot and will serve as Executive Producer with some other guys. This brings the total sitcoms NBC has greenlit to something like 13 which is a lot as they continue to find fresh comedy for its airwaves.
Mulaney’s stand-up special New In Town topped our 10 Best Comedy Albums of 2012 so we’re rooting for this one to get picked up to series.
