Judd Apatow guest editied the first-ever Vanity Fair comedy issue

December 4, 2012      Matt      Features, Judd Apatow, News       Comments

Want to know how much comedy is having a renaissance? This January, Vanity Fair will dedicate an entire issue of it’s magazine for the first time to funny people and funny things. Also, it enlisted Judd Apatow to be its guest editor for the issue.

Everyone from Conan O’Brien, Sarah Silverman, Zach Galifianakis, Steve Martin, Louis C.K., Jimmy Fallon, Mel Brooks, and Carl Reiner were all gathered to help lend some of their comedic prowess to the issues.

It’s going to be a great one.

However, we just have one question when we checked out the issue’s 3 covers. They feature a bevy (good word Matt!) of hilarious men and women who all could easily appear on the cover by themselves. That is except for one, Megan Fox?

Don’t get uswrong, Megan Fox is definitely an talented person. But “comedian” is not the first label that would pop into one head when thinking of her. Yes and before you get all nuts on us, we do recognize that that specific cover is members of Apatow’s upcoming movie This Is 40. But Lena Dunham, Jason Segel, Chris O’Dowd, Robert Smigel, and Charlyne Yi are also in the film. Names many would recognize for their comedic talent before Fox.

If the choice is Fox so her cover girl looks to help sell magazines then why not go all the way and put her in the two piece bikini over Leslie Mann? We know the answer to that one… Apatow wants to remind us that he has a hot wife! Good call on that one Judd. Can’t argue with you there.
