Megan Mullalley dishes more “Party Down” movie rumors
In her appearance on this week’s Comedy Bang Bang podcast, Megan Mullally revealed some details on the long-rumored Party Down movie.
Though she was sure to emphasize that nothing was official she did state they were hoping they’d be able to eye next spring/summer to begin production. She also stated that a script needs to be finished and approved and based on that approval there was a chance of financial backing.
It’s been easily a year since this rumor began and it seems very far-fetched that Party Down would be resurrected. One year ago, I was way more skeptical about this actually happening but based on the recent turn of events with cult classics like Arrested Development; I do have to admit the odds seem at least a bit more realistic that these events could fall into place. I would also not be surprised if the resurrected 10 episodes of AD fail, financial backers might get spooked and whatever windows of opportunity open for cult shows like Party Down might close quickly.
