NBC is betting that rising comedian Mo Mandel could be their next great sitcom writer. The networks is working with him to create a high-concept sitcom about twentysomethings during their last five years on Earth before it’s destroyed by a meteor.
Mandel may also co-star if his script goes to pilot. Mandel broke out at the Montreal Just For Laughs comedy festival and has pilot acting experience after co-starring on Fox’s Strange Brew last season.
