26th Annual Comedy FestivalThe folks that run The Onion and The A.V. Club are going to put on a comedy festival. The fest is called the 26th Annual Comedy Festival. So it’s the first annual 26th Annual Comedy Festival. You still with us?

The shindig will take place in the publication’s hometown of Chicago on June 12th-14th. Conveniently filling in the void left that week as Just For Laughs Chicago isn’t holding a festival in Chicago this year. The festival will take place in the Athenaeum Theatre and will be a blend of stand-up and podcasts. Scott Aukerman will bring the Comedy Bang! Bang! podcast for a live recording on Thursday. The rest of the week includes a double bill of Tig Notaro and Kyle Kinane on Friday. The week is capped with a performance by Marc Maron Saturday night. The festival is being supported by in part by IFC and public radio WBEZ.

A limited number of three-night passes will go on sale tomorrow, March 25, at 10am CST. Those that purchase those tickets will have best seat access for all the shows. Individual show tickets go on sale this Friday, March 28th at 10 CST. All details and ticket purchase can be made at www.26comedy.com/

nick kroll invests in ifc and wbez and npr. thusly, he funds this faux fest with his favorite co-cancer scammer tig notaro. how sweet. anyone know if trish kinane is kyle's brother? cause if he is this you have to be very connected to do comedy reality is getting uglier by the moment. why didn't david sims or some other av club ho cover this fest for the masses?
