Russell Brand is currently traipsing around New York City without Katy Perry filming a remake of the film Arthur. Now we purists don’t think there’s much of a need for Hollywood to be remaking comedy classics but this re-make has one thing the Dudley Moore version didn’t…The Batmobile.
Yesterday Brand and crew were spotted filming scenes for the flick in Astoria, NY. This isn’t particularly newsworthy until Batman comes into play. As you can see in the picture, Brand is hanging out (in the purple shirt) next to the car, probably running lines with it.
Howard Stern once said that he’d pretty much watch any film if they just went and put in appearances of Spiderman in the film. We’re pretty sure they are enlisting the same theory for the Arthur remake.
“This flick sucks! Oh Look! Spiderman! Danny DeVito as Batman, I’m listening!”
There’s also a possibility these pics could also be for the sequel, Arthur 2: Electric Boogaloo. Someone see what Joel Schumacker is up to!
Filmdrunk has some more pictures of the car, just sitting around and looking all Kilmer-era Batmanny.
