Seth Meyers to replace Jimmy Fallon on Late Night?
Believe it or not, the word on the street is Seth Meyers could be the next host of Late Night. With all the rumors of Fallon all but officially confirmed to replace Jay Leno on The Tonight Show in 2014, Late Night will need a new host.
It has been widely speculated that the show’s executive producer Lorne Michaels wants to keep it in the Saturday Night Live family for a replacement for the loveable Jimmy Fallon.
If you explore Fallon’s past it is easy to see whose names would come up first. Fallon killed it on SNL , where he also took a turn hosting Weekend Update. This could suggest Tina Fey as possibly being asked to host Late Night. Fey has been crazy successful with writing comedy. She also is a SNL alum and co-hosted Weekend Update with Fallon. Seems like a match made in heaven, right? Wrong. Fey is said to be too busy these days to do the show. So who is next in line? Mr. Seth Meyers. Meyers is currently SNL’s head writer, as well as, the single host of Weekend Update. Furthermore, it has been reported that Lorne Michaels wants Seth to take over from Fallon.
These are obviously all rumors but make perfect sense. Hearing Seth could be the host is like the unraveling of a twist at the end of a movie, it’s all coming together and it just works. Who knows, we might just be seeing Late Night With Seth Meyers coming to NBC soon!
