Stephen Colbert Ready To Dominate The Holidays With Christmas Special, Album

You might have thought STEPHEN COLBERT was just a tv personality or news anchor…well it appears you were wrong. You can now add “musical genius” to his repertoire. Colbert has always dabbled with his musical abilities, from befriending many a musician on his nightly tv show, The Colbert Report to striking full-fledged wars against others (see the Decemberists war of ’06).
We assume to get ahead of the holiday rush, Colbert is launching himself fully into committing to the Christmas holiday before Thanksgiving.
This weekend (November 23rd), Comedy Central is airing A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift Of All! The special will feature Colbert doing duets with Jon Stewart, John Legend, Willie Nelson, Toby Keith, Feist, and even a little Elvis Costello for good measure. All of the show’s original music was written by Adam Schlesinger (Fountains Of Wayne) and Daily Show producer, David Javerbaum.
Once the weekend is over, on November 25th, there will be both a DVD of the special as well as a companion digital-only EP available for sale through iTunes and the Comedy Central Store.
