  • Steve Martin will release a new bluegrass record with Edie Brickell on April 23rd

Steve Martin, Edie BrickellApart from the random late night show cameos here and there or a recent guest appearance on Saturday Night Live, Steve Martin hasn’t done much these days in the realm of comedy.

No worries! He’s not tucked away in a Hollywood mansion or trying to avoid the press. He’s just been playing a mean banjo and making bluegrass music with some of those most iconic figures in the genre. Now, Martin will release Love Has Come For You, a collaboration album with New Bohemians frontwoman, Edie Brickell.

The folk/bluegrass album will feature Esperanza Spalding, Nickel Creek members, and Waddy Wachtel. Produced by Peter Asher (Neil Diamond, James Taylor), Love Has Come For You will also feature The Steep Canyon Rangers, who Martin recorded a Grammy-nominated album with in 2011.

Martin and Brickell will kick off a North American summer tour starting May 22nd in Fort Meyers, FL and the duo already has some TV appearances lined up like Letterman (April 23rd), the Today Show and The View (April 24th) and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon (May 6th).

Love Has Come For You will be released via Rounder Records (Alison Krauss, Soul Rebels Brass Band, Meters) on April 23rd. Pre-order the album atiTunes or on Amazon.
