  • Our visit to the You Know What Dude! podcast

The other day we stopped by the studios above NYC’s Comedy Cellar for a taping of Robert Kelly’s You Know What Dude! podcast. It was the second time we were invited on the show and what a difference time makes. Robert began the podcast a few years ago just taping it on his phone to now having a nice setup of a studio able to accommodate co-hosts and guest. It’s come a long way.

We dropped by to recount our travels to the Just For Laughs festival with a life-sized cutout of Robert in tow, taping an impromptu podcast with “Robert,” Dan Soder, and Joe List while there in Montreal. Read the rest of this entry

Talking comedy with Paul F. Tompkins

Paul F. Tompkins is a sharp dressed man, and we didn’t waste time letting him know this when we sat down with him at Just For Laughs. While he shed some insight on his festival experience, the comedian really opened up when the topic turned to comedy podcasting, offering his take on the medium’s future and offering advice for others. Tompkins has the fantastic Pod F Tomkast, which if you haven’t gotten the chance to check out yet, get on it.

Stern Producer Gary Dell’Abate Latest To Join Nerdist Empire

Longtime Howard Stern Show producer/personality Gary Dell’Abate (a.k.a Baba Booey) will be joining the likes of Neil Patrick Harris, “Weird Al” Yankovic, and Rob Zombie on the ever popular Nerdist Channel on YouTube.

Dell’Abate’s new show, They Call Me Baba Booey will feature Gary’s Rain Man-esque mental encyclopedia of music and pop culture trivia and current happenings interjected with frequent geek outs of the audio/video tech gadget variety.

“In Gary’s other job, he is ridiculed for being an audiophile and a tech head,” states Nerdist founder Chris Hardwick, “BUT NOT HERE AT NERDIST! We welcome him to our nerdly fold to work amongst his own kind, like Professor X welcoming a young mutant to the Xavier Institute.” Read the rest of this entry
