  • My Favorite Sketch: The Kids In The Hall, ‘Faux Pas’

Canada’s greatest export is arguably The Kids In The Hall (sorry Jim Carrey, Dan Akroyd, Mike Meyers, William Shatner and SCTV). The five man troupe’s quirky approach to sketch comedy has earned them a loyal following. It even won over Lorne Michaels, who helped produce the troupe’s five season TV show. It would be next to impossible for me to pick a favorite sketch from the show, or even a favorite cast member (Dave Foley, Kevin McDonald, Bruce McCulloch, Mark McKinney, and Scott Thompson shined in their own way, and together were even more unstoppable). However, what makes the “Faux Pas” sketch great is that it takes a real-life awkward situation and makes it even more bizarre. At the very least, you get to see Foley in a dress and McKinney experience a hostage flashback… so win for everyone!

If you have a favorite sketch that we should check out, tell us about it in the comments.
