  • Just For Laughs Chicago 2013: Day 4 with The Laugh Butt, The Lonely Island, Al Madrigal, Hannibal Buress, and Seth Meyers

    JFL Press Junket Day 2

Holy smokes! We were psyched to get day 4 of Just For Laughs Chicago up and running! Why? Because we were going to get some face time with some of our favorite comedians! Each and every time we turned around another stellar comedian was coming by our room to shoot some video for us. There were lots of incredible moments including meeting The Tenderlions aka, the cast of TruTV’s Impractical Jokers who were not only great at telling us some prank stories. Who woulda thought that a bunch of guys that host a prank TV show would have some good prank stories right? Also dropping in were the always terrific John Hodgman got a bit physical with the comedy and hitting the floor. Read More

Cool thing to buy this week: The Lonely Island’s ‘The Wack Album’

The Wack AlbumThe dudes who got Michael Bolton to sing “This whole town’s a p*ssy just waiting to get f*cked!” are back!

This week it’s time to indulge in some new white dude rap tunes with The Lonely Island’s The Wack Album. Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone, and Akiva Schaffer are back again with more clever dick jokes and spoofs of rap culture.  Just like their first two efforts, The Wack Album has a pretty impressive guest list including Kendrick Lamar, Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga, Robyn, Hugh Jackman, Kristen Wiig, and yes, T-Pain. “YOLO” hilariously interprets the phrase to say you should be more careful with your life cause stairs and loud music are some scary shit! “You’ve Got The Look” raps about the LOOK, you know that awesome look when you’re at the club and the dude standing next to you has one of his testicle’s out.

What are you waiting for? pick up the album, roll up to your aunt’s house, and blare the track “I F*cked My Aunt.” She’ll think it’s hilarious! Read More

The Lonely Island’s last Wack Wednesdays release, ‘Spell It Out’

As promised, for the last month or so The Lonely Island has released a new song or video every Wednesday as part of their “Wack Wednesdays” promotion for their new CD/DVD The Wack Album. This week (and the final WW) they bring us “Spell it out.” It can be a little tough to follow all the letters, but we did! And what Andy is spelling out is “Dude that has sex with pigs for money but only as a side thing right now, I’m just short on cash and have irons in the fire but in this economy it’ll have to do my name is Lenny.”

In typical Lonely Island fashion the video starts somewhat normal then continues on with a goofy theme, this one being spelling out a long and weird sentence. Some how these guys always pull it off and make it funny though. Their new album drops June 11th.

‘The To Do List’ redband trailer is way better than any normal trailer

We reported earlier about the forthcoming Aubrey Plaza movie The To Do List was coming out this July but the release of the redband trailer shows a lot more of what’s going on in the film and it actually looks pretty hilarious. It also stars pretty much everyone in Plaza, Johnny Simmons, Bill Hader, Alia Shawkat, Sarah Steele, Rachel Bilson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Donald Glover, Scott Porter, Andy Samberg, Connie Britton (aka Mrs. Coach!) and Clark Gregg. It was also written and directed by Bill Hader’s wife Maggie Carey and besides, he’s pretty great in everything he does and it appears after watching the last 30 seconds of this trailer, that still rings true.

The Lonely Island have that ‘Diaper Money’

The Lonely Island promo train just keep rolling on and we’re getting updates even more frequently than just on #WackWednesdays. Their latest video for “Diaper Money” just hit the web and it’s exactly what I’d image grown ass dudes rapping about. Lyrics about coffins, diapers, and wives p*ssies. This video has it all. It’s also dirty and NSFW. The Wack Album hits stores on June 11th.

Are Armisen and Sudekis out at ‘Saturday Night Live’ as well?

Amid the news that Seth Meyers and Bill Hader’s departure from Saturday Night Live a new report in the NY Post citing an “NBC insider” revealed that Fred Armisen’s time is also up and Jason Sudeikis is likely to make the jump as well at the end of this season. While speculation like this happens at the end of every season, this happens. A show like SNL that always addresses the zeitgeist of a nation, so change is always inevitable. It will have a very different look and feel next season no doubt.

Bill Hader is leaving ‘Saturday Night Live’

Bill HaderHow about this kick in the dink for news first thing in the morning.

Bill Hader, Saturday Night Live veteran, and one of it’s most consistent cast members for eight years has decided it’s time to leave the show. This news comes on the heels of the announcement that the show’s head writer, Seth Meyers will be taking over for Jimmy Fallon on late night when Fallon jumps to The Tonight Show. Hader’s contract expired last season but stayed on for one more.

“It was a hard decision, but it has to happen at some point,” Mr. Hader said in an interview. “It got to a point where I said, ‘Maybe it’s just time to go.’” Hader told The NY Times

Lorne Michaels compared him to the early greats like Dan Aykroyd, “In terms of intelligence and talent, he was in that same tradition,” Michaels said. “He was so completely committed to the art of it and enough a student of it that there’s something strikingly original. He didn’t explode onto the air, but gradually he found his voice, and that became a huge thing.” Read More
