  • Pete Holmes, ‘Nice Try, The Devil’ (review)

Pete Holmes - Nice Try, The DevilPete Holmes has just graced us all with another rip-roarin’ ride to friendly guy town. Nice Try, The Devil hit the shelves today and it does not disappoint, especially if you were a fan of his 2011 debut album, Impregnated With Wonder a record that took us by surprise in how enthusiastically terrific it was. With that in mind NT,TD needs to hit high marks, and with all confidence it overwhelmingly does. Recorded live at Austin’s Moody Theater ol’ Petey Pants talks about his recent visit to Atlanta, his fascination with Breast Milk, his hatred toward his past girlfriend’s friends, cats and dogs, being gay for Ryan Gosling, religion, the fan-favorite “PIIEEEERRCCEE!!”, and the newly added “JUAN!”

Holmes has a great time on stage and that’s obvious. He comes out laughing only to sing the theme from The Lion King about twenty seconds later. Then he gets right in to talking about Austin, TX and his mother who mistakenly refers to the singer Celine Dion (her “favorite recording artist”) as “Salon Dijon.” Read the rest of this entry

Pete Holmes can’t get into ‘Game of Thrones’ but has the British accent down

Pete Holmes was on Conan last night to talk about life, mainly about his problem with the HBO show Game of Thrones. Turns out that realms are a dealbreaker for the comedian. Pete also learned a bit of Britsh accent-ery from a recent trek he took to London for the Fast & Furious 6 movie premiere. Conan and Pete’s report is great and a good indication of how the two will probably operate once Holmes starts his late night show to air post Conan. Read the rest of this entry

Amy Schumer dishes on relationships and previews a new show clip on ‘Conan’

Tonight Amy Schumer’s new TV show Inside Amy Schumer premieres on Comedy Central. So we’ll be seeing a lot of her this week as she makes the rounds to promote her new sketch comedy show, which looks hilarious and judging by the first episode the network put out for streaming online, we’re correct. Last night Amy was the guest on Conan and not only did she dish on her formerly dating a pro-wrestler, she also premiered a new clip from the forthcoming show called “Slap Chef” which is just what I need to help me lose weight. Even more interesting is “Sleep Gym.” Someone show me the sign up sheet for that place because I’m going to fill that thing out hard!
