Have you ever been yelled at by a clown? Nate Bargatze has. The awesomely great Bargatze caught up with Ramin Nazer at Recess with The Laugh Button for a bit of a chat with us at the Recess Arcade Bar to talk about his album, Yelled At By a Clown as well as his life as a new father. But at the center of all things Bargatze wanted to relay to us readers of The Laugh Button is simple… follow him on Twitter @NateBargatze. Because Nate’s goal is simple, to get more followers than his friend and fellow comedian, Dan Soder.
In this installment of Recess with the Laugh Button host Ramin Nazer caught up with comedian/writer Andres du Bouchet. Who has been very busy of late as a writer for Conan. Du Bouchet dished on his forthcoming stand-up special and his love/hate affair for coming to festivals such as SXSW. Follow Andres on Twitter @DuBouchet for the latest.
One of our most exciting moments of our heading to Texas and putting on a Nasty Show was the chance to get the one and only Big Jay Oakerson to be a part of the fun. We were also psyched about Oakerson stopping by Recess Arcade Bar and taping an installment of Recess with The Laugh Button with us. Here’s how it went down.
It’s Tuesday so more Recess with The Laugh Button comin’ at ya. This time we catch up with Adam Cayton-Holland, a Denver comedian who just recently made his late night debut on Conan. Cayton-Holland discusses hanging out in one of the most liberal cities in the country. As well as what he’s up to with his comedy group, The Grawlix with fellow Denver comedians Ben Roy and Andrew Orvedahl. Adam also talked about the recent selling of a Grawlix pilot to Amazon which so happens to have just launched days ago.
We’re having such a blast with Recess with The Laugh Button that we don’t want it to end. Good news is there’s plenty of gas in the tank! Our interview with members of The Chris Gethard Show, Keith Haskel and Riley Solonor. From the show’s start at UCB to the characters they play on the public access channel. Recess with The Laugh Button is an interview series shot live from the Recess Arcade Bar in Austin, Texas with our host, comedian Ramin Nazer.
Time for some more Recess with The Laugh Button. Our interview series shot live from the Recess Arcade Bar in Austin, Texas. This time we have the one and only Mark Normand getting asked the tough questions from Ramin Nazer. Normand was one of the performers at the stand-up show we put on and he was more than happy to talk to us about his comedy and coming to NYC from his native New Orleans.
A few weeks ago we headed down to Austin, Texas for the SXSW Festival. In the middle of catching a ton of comedy events we threw our own comedy showcase which Robert Kelly hosted Matt Braunger, Big Jay Oakerson, Mark Normand, and Aisha Tyler for a Nasty Show!
Before the night started we sent a special correspondent, Robert Kelly onto the floor of the Interactive trade show at the festival to talk to the vendors on the floor. Robert is a fan of all things tech and hosts a tech talk segment on his You Know What Dude? podcast. So we thought no better person to go and talk to these people than someone that loves it.
We might be biased but giving Robert Kelly a microphone and setting him loose on a technology floor might be one of the more inspired ideas we’ve had lately. Read the rest of this entry
It’s Thursday and that means another episode of Recess with The Laugh Button. Today’s guests are Connor Ratliff and Shannon O’Neill. A pair of great improv players from NY’s UCB Theatre. We talked about everything from Connor’s attempt at a 2014 Winter Olympic bid and the long-running improv group they are a part of called The Stepfathers. Take it away Ramin.
