  • Chris Hardwick to host late night talk show this fall

Chris HardwickWell, it seems that one hour of baller late night television is not enough for Comedy Central. Today they announced that comedian Chris Hardwick will be an expansion of the late night milkshake block that currently brings all the boys 18-34 to the yard with The Daily Show and The Colbert Report.

Hardwick, will host a still untitled show launching this fall that will follow Colbert. The show was co-produced by Funny Or Die and and Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant will serve as executive producers/showrunners for the show. Lennon and Garant have a long history with the network from their time with Viva Variety and Reno 911. Hardwick’s show will be comedy panel in form, allowing for plenty of guests and have social integration.

Hardwick and his Nerdist brand have been on fire lately with him running programming in the online space, but hosting/developing shows on BBC America and AMC as well as releasing a stand-up special earlier this year.

This new show in the fall will also compete with another Nerdist as podcaster/comedian Pete Holmes is also slated to have a midnight show that will air on TBS after Conan.

Mock the Vote: the funniest political videos of the 2012 Presidential Election

Well, we’re here Election Day 2012. After what seems like an infinite number of political speeches, it’s now in the hands of us, the voters. So it’s time for us to head out to our local polling station and cast our ballots to pick the leader of the free world for the next four years.

To quote my grandmother, “Don’t be an assh*le! Go vote.” Nanna always had a way with words.

Here’s a collection of some of our favorite political-themed videos of this election. Read the rest of this entry

Stephen Colbert to Donald Trump, “I’ll give you $1 Million dollars if you let me dip my balls in your mouth” (video)

That’s the best headline you will read all day.

We all know PT Barnum Donald Trump has become this blowhard-y caricature of himself as of late. These days, he’s less real estate mogul, turned mouthpiece for fringe Republicans and complete butt of joke for late night hosts. Yesterday when he decided to make an “earth-shattering announcement” about Barrack Obama it ended up being nothing but a chance to people like us to write about it. Rather than really care about what Trump did, it’s just better to let an expert take care of the response…

Jon Stewart’s Night of Too Many Stars 2012 returns this October

Jon Stewart is bringing back Night Of Too Many Stars. The Biennial autism benefit is set to tape at the Beacon Theatre in NYC on October 13th and air on Comedy Central on October 21st.

Stewart is pulling in all his buddies to entertain the Beacon crowd including Hannibal Buress, Bill Burr, Stephen Colbert, Tina Fey, Tracy Morgan, Amy Poehler, Seth Rogen in addition one of the oddest couples if they happen to be on stage together, Bill O’Reilly and Tom Morello. Something that might realistically happen since the theme of the evening is “America Comes Together.”

There will also be celebs on hand to man the phone banks during the October 21st live event including Fred Armisen, Andy Cohen, Jack McBrayer, Bob Saget, Jerry Seinfeld and Jason Sudeikis.

Be sure to tune in, for last time this went down, Chris Rock cursed out an ex to the highest bidder and that sh*t was hilarious.

The only thing left to say is get some tickets for the charity. Do that here.

Video: Stephen Colbert Pays Tribute To Maurice Sendak

Stephen Colbert has done some pretty amazing interviews over the years. One of the best in recent memory are with children’s book author Maurice Sendak. It showed the old man side of Sendak that is quick with the wit and not really scared of speaking his mind.

Yesterday when news broke of Sendak’s passing those interviews were the first we thought of. It was also the same day that Colbert released his own

that came from the Sendak interviews.

Last night we waited for Colbert to mention the legendary author on The Colbert Report and sure enough he did.

The Colbert Report, Portlandia, and Parks And Rec Are Peabody Winners

As Ron Swanson once said, he thinks awards are stupid but would be less stupid if they went to the right people. Turns out, this time around they did it right as he and his fellow Pawnee (yes I’m talking like Ron is a real person) officials are amongst people selected as 2012 Peabody Award winners.

The awards recognize outstanding achievements in electronic media that’s not a movie. Turns out they think some comedies out there are pretty awesome as the governing body selected three comedies – Portlandia (IFC), Parks and Recreation (NBC) and The Colbert Report (Comedy Central) as recipients this year. In particular they highlighted Colbert’s amazingly great segments lampooning of the introduction of the Super Pac into American politics.

The full list of winners can be read here.

Gregory House Worships At The Altar Of Stephen Colbert

I was sitting on my couch, minding my own business watching House and at one scene when we found our intrepid doctor in his office talking to a colleague I happened to notice a photo on the desk behind House, and upon further review it turns out that Gregory House M.D. worships at the altar of Stephen Colbert. I don’t know about others, but when I put a framed image of someone on my desk at work, I have a strong connection with said person. Read the rest of this entry
