Marc Maron is ending his show, effective, well immediately. The comedian broke the news today via his WTF Podcast that season 4 would be the last for the IFC show Maron. “I’ve decided that this is it,” Maron said. “It’s done. There’s ways to do more, but this was the vision. This season was the season. And I couldn’t be more thrilled about how it came out—how all four seasons came out.” The show was a fictionalized version of the comedian’s life.
So, this Wednesday will not only serve as the season 4 finale of the show, but a series finale for the show. After the comedian broke the news about the show, IFC confirmed it, thanking Marc for four seasons.

One of Maron’s Executive Producers, Jim Serpico (Apostle) shared similar statements about the show on his social media.
It’s true. This Wednesday’s episode of Maron will be the last episode of the series. I consider myself fortunate to have been able to work with Marc and an amazing team of people that made it happen for four seasons. We had a great ride.
Earlier today we premiered an exclusive clip from the season 4 finale, and now that’s a clip from the series finale.
