The hip hop community has historically been supportive and willing to integrate stand-up comedy its fold. Whether it be Def Comedy Jam giving comedians like D.L. Hughley, Chris Rock, and Bernie Mac early exposure, or rappers name dropping comedians like Bruce Bruce and Katt Williams in songs and videos.
That is why its not much of a shock that rap mogul 50 Cent is launching his own online comedy channel at Thisis50comedy.com which will be hosted by comedian Young Jack Thrilla and feature comedians from all around the world.
The web series will start this Thursday April, 28th and feature a new episode the last Thursday of every month.
Viewers can subscribe and log on to www.thisis50comedy.com and pay the minimum cost of $2.99. Proceeds will be donated to the Red Cross to aid in the relief effort for the aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
Enjoy this promo video featuring Young Jack Thrilla wearing lots of shirts with “This is 50” written on it.
And here’s one of my favorite 50 Cent comedy moments.
