Louis C.K., Judd Apatow urge TMZ to remove Tracy Morgan crash footage

By now we’ve all heard the news of the fatal car accident involving Tracy Morgan’s limo bus that killed comedian Jimmy Mack and put Morgan, Ardie Fuqua, and Morgan’s assistant Jeff Millea in the ICU. However, what we often forget is that in our desire to get information we often forget about just how devastating this is to those close to the victims.
Fuqua’s daughter Kriss is an example of one of these instances. Yesterday morning she took to her Instagram account in hopes that she could, in some way, apply pressure to get TMZ who posted video footage of the crash scene, to remove it. Reminding the gossip site that there are people out there that the footage effects.
In her post, Kriss stated the following.
“I honestly would like to petition for TMZ to remove this video. They don’t understand how hurtful is is to see my father be dragged out of the wreckage. Along with all the false information on his condition. I understand people want to know and people want to be updated, but enough is enough. this is hurting my heart so bad that this video is posted for all to see. No one should see my father this way. All I ask is to kindly be left along so that my father and everyone else can recover in peace. Enough is enough. Please TMZ remove this video.”
The video shows the moments right after the accident as people are trying to help the comedians from the wreckage, it’s not a pretty scene. We can’t imagine the emotions it would evoke in someone who is so close to the victims. The situation becomes all the more painful when you think about how Ardie and his family have had a rough go of things lately as they lost a son in 2012. Making them all the more sensitive to the situation.
Last night, Louis C.K. took to his Twitter account and 3.9M followers to voice his support of Kriss’ efforts, sharing a story of the daughter’s plea reported on by our pals at Laughspin.
Take it down TMZ.
Now. Please.

C.K. wasn’t the only high profile comedian as Judd Apatow voiced similar sentiment.
.@HarveyLevinTMZ please take down the accident video.

So, here’s where we’re at. We have a lot of thoughts swirling around our heads about this situation. Our hearts completely break for Ardie and his family. But at the same time, it’s a major newsworthy event. TMZ is not the only outlet reporting on the accident or showing crash footage. Is there a balance that can be struck that both reports the news to the public and respects the victims?
What’s your opinion on the subject? Sound off.
