“A Little Late with Lilly Singh” returns in January with new writing staff and set

December 2, 2020      Andrew Buss      A Little Late With Lilly Singh, News, Television

A Little Late with Lilly Singh, which airs following Late Night w/Seth Meyers on NBC, is planning on returning for a second season this January. However, there will be some changes to the show when it returns.

The first change is that the show will no longer be filmed in a traditional Hollywood studio. Instead, it will be moving production to a house in Los Angeles. No word as to whether or not there will still be an audience present.

The second change is the overhaul of most of the creatives behind-the-scenes. Neil Punsalan will be taking over as showrunner from Aliyah Silverstein. Chelsea Davidson, the show’s only returning writer other than Singh, will now become head writer. New writers include Vannessa Jackson, Sabeeh Jameel, Romen Borsellino, Nimesh Patel, Nelu Handa and Natasha Vaynblat.

“During the first season of A Little Late, I was thrust into a whole new world that admittedly consisted of 90% learning and 10% being creative,” Singh said. “For this second round, I know the ropes and plan to bring more of my creativity to the table. It’s time to get goofy, be imperfect and bring my full authentic self to late night.”

A Little Late with Lilly Singh returns Monday January 11th.
