Gene Wilder is going to be the subject of a new documentary.
White Horse Pictures announced plans for a film from Chris Smith, best known for the series Bad Vegan and Jim and Andy. The film will be told through the eyes of Wilder’s nephew, Jordan Walker-Pearlman.
“To trust other filmmakers with something as sacred to me as my relationship with Gene was not easy, but working with Chris Smith, White Horse Pictures and Andy Trapani has been an incredibly organic experience,” says Walker-Pearlman in a statement. “I look forward to seeing Gene’s inner spirit shine on screen for what I hope will be his final great performance.”
Wilder, of course, is best remembered for many of his films including Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory, Young Frankenstein, The Producers, Blazing Saddles, Silver Streak, Stir Crazy, and countless others.
But we like to remember Gene as the master of flipping his sh*t.
