A “Ted” prequel series is in the works at Peacock

June 10, 2021      Andrew Buss      Movies, News, Television

When Ted was released in the summer of 2012, few could have anticipated just how big of a hit it would become, taking in just short of $550 million at the box office. The sequel, while underperforming in comparison, still managed to become a box office success. So it shouldn’t be too surprising that Universal would make another attempt at keeping the franchise alive.

Today it was announced that a Ted prequel series is in the works at Peacock. The series received a straight-to-series 10 episode order, with Seth MacFarlane expected to be returning to voice Ted and we imagine as creator/executive producer.

As of right now, the film’s star Mark Wahlberg is not attached. And with the series being a prequel, it can easily be done without him. So we’ll have to see how this shapes up.
