A viral “test scene” of a Robin Williams biopic is giving us all the feels

Impressionist Jamie Costa is having a moment as he’s currently going viral with an impersonation of the late, great Robin Williams. The scene, “ROBIN: Test Footage Scene” shot maybe to let the world see what could be if Hollywood took a chance (see Dan Folger’s Sam Kinison screen test) or as a proof of concept (see Ryan Reynolds putting out a kickass Deadpool test scene). Costa is attempting to make a case for a Robin Williams biopic.
Costa wrote a scene to show off his Williams impression it takes place on March 5th 1982 at the Paramount lot on the set of Mork And Mindy. It’s the day after the death of John Belushi – it’s well known that Williams was one of the last people to see Belushi alive as the to were partying the night before. Williams is unaware of the death of his friend and is preparing for the a shoot when his co-star Pam Dawber (Sarah Murphee) arrives in his dressing room to break the unfortunate news to her co-star.
When we first laid eyes on the clip it had around 20K views on Youtube, today it stands over 2M and climbing. The clip emotes a bit of a strange feeling when watching the clip of Costa performing the beloved Williams. It’s probably because Costa nails both the manic and sad nature Williams processed in a decidedly dark clip. It’s safe to say it gives us the feels.
