Adam Sank is coming out on Christmas Day (his live comedy album, actually)

Live from the Stonewall Inn is the first ever comedy album release from the openly gay and incredibly funny Adam Sank. For more than a decade, Sank has been telling jokes on stages in New York, L.A., Toronto and Cancun…to name a few. He’s recognized from appearances on shows like NBC’s Last Comic Standing, FOX’s Laughs and Vh1’s I Love the 2000s. Now, “Just like Jesus,” says Sank, Christmas Day is expecting his arrival.
Live from the Stonewall Inn was recorded live this past September at the very same venue that birthed the LGBT civil rights movement. It may not be the ideal place to record a comedy album, but it’s a special place for Sank because “if the Stonewall Riots hadn’t happened, I wouldn’t be able to get on stage as an openly gay man and tell dick jokes.”
Nothing is sacred for Sank who shares the usual awkward high school sex stories that many comics do…but how many other comics accidently text a stranger about their bowel movements? And his Elmo impression is spot-on, you’ll see why. Sank calls out gay stereotypes and is Jeselnik-offensive at some points too, but that’s why comedy is comedy. It’s not for everyone, though the audience at the Stonewall sure ate it up. Even if the Stonewall isn’t your scene, Sank promises this album is for everyone.
“We’ve all had awful sex at one time or another. We’ve all made total asses of ourselves at the gym. That’s what makes comedy so universal. It doesn’t matter if you’re gay or straight or whatever. Everyone’s a big mess.” Grab a copy to share with your family at Christmas and then discuss their favorite tracks on the album. Go ahead, it will be the highlight of your holiday.
