Today, George Carlin is considered one of the sharpest comedic minds who has ever lived. He had an absolute masterful approach to comedy, assisted by his viewpoint and wit, that remains untouched to this day. Additionally, the list of the comics that he had influenced seemingly continues to grow every year.
To celebrate what would’ve been his 83rd birthday, the National Comedy Center in Jamestown, New York (which holds his archives) is putting together a star-studded tribute to Carlin.
Some of the names participating in this virtual event include Norman Lear, Judd Apatow, Sebastian Maniscalco, Lewis Black, Jim Norton, Tim Allen, Elayne Boosler, Bill Engvall, Judah Friedlander, Judy Gold, Kathy Griffin, Penn Jillette, Maz Jobrani, George Lopez, Mark Normand, Russell Peters, Colin Quinn, Brian Regan, Alex Winter, Steven Wright, Alan Zweibel, and Carlin’s daughter, Kelly Carlin. Additional names are also expected to join as well.
This list just goes to show how many people remain in awe of the man today. Proceeds for this event will help benefit the National Comedy Center, which opened back in 2018.
