Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Leslie Knope herself, Amy Poehler will be the first host of the 36th season of Saturday Night Live which premieres on NBC September 25th.
Poehler was a member of the troupe from 2001-2008 but it feels like she’s never really left with some reappearances on the show last season, most notably during the Betty White episode. Poehler’s Parks & Recreation will not return to the NBC airwaves until mid season, a move made because of her pregnancy of her second child with husband Will Arnett.
Katy Perry will be the musical guest.
In other SNL news, it’s looking like there are some more comings and goings happening at the show. With four new featured players entering after the departure of Will Forte and rumored firing of Jenny Slate. EW also confirmed comedian Taran Killam (Mad TV, How I Met Your Mother), Chicago-based comedians Paul Brittain and Vanessa Bayer will join the case with newcomer/impressionist Jay Pharoah will all join the cast this season.
