Now we know when Amy Schumer is coming to the big screen

January 9, 2014      Bram Teitelman      Amy Schumer, Movies

Amy SchumerLast Summer, Amy Schumer announced from onstage in New Brunswick that she would be starring in a Judd Apatow film. After we wrote about it, it was officially confirmed that the standard-bearer for adult comedy and the outspoken Schumer would be collaborating on a film together. Since then, some more information has come out about the film, now titled Trainwreck.

And now the picture has a release date. You’ll be able to see Schumer’s cinematic debut on July 24th, 2015. It’s impressive that the film will land smack dab in the middle of the Summer blockbuster season. And by the time it airs, there will be at least another season of Inside Amy Schumer out, as the second season of her Comedy Central show starts on April 1. Not to mention, Variety has anointed her the breakthrough comedy performer of the year. So even if she’s not a household name just yet, she’ll certainly be a little closer in a year and a half from now.
