Amy Schumer’s HBO special gets an October release date

The announcement was previously made, but we didn’t have an official date yet. Now we do. Amy Schumer’s HBO special is coming to HBO on October 17. This will be her first for HBO. Chris Rock was tapped to direct the special back in May at New York City’s famed Apollo Theater. “Amy is one of the most inspired comics working today, and we hope her first HBO special marks the start of a long and beautiful relationship,” HBO programming president Michael Lombardo said when announcing the special earlier this year. “This event is even more special because our good friend, the incredibly talented Chris Rock, is directing.” You can currently see Schumer in her feature film debut, Trainwreck, in theaters now. As for Inside Amy Schumer, her smash hit on Comedy Central, she’ll be back for a fourth season. 2015 is officially the year of Schumer.
