On August 9th, Angela Yee hinted that there would be some sort of change surrounding The Breakfast Club, the popular pop culture/interview/comedy radio show. See has cohosted the show since it’s creation in 2010, alongside Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy.
“The breakfast club as you know it is officially over,” Yee announced on Twitter.
In the past 12 years, the show has risen to become widely popular and a legitimate cultural force. See’s announcement caused speculation on whether the show would be wrapping up for good.
The following day, Yee clarified on-air as to the future of The Breakfast Club. While the show will not be ending, See will be leaving the show shortly to start her own nationally syndicated show, titled Way Up with Angela Yee. The show will air midday, fitting neatly with The Breakfast Club, which is a morning show.
Yee is still staying on in the interim until her show is up and running, but the transition will be occurring shortly.
