At one point in the trailer for Anthony Jeselnik’s new late night TV show Good Talk, Natasha Leggero seems surprised by the tone of the questions being asked of her. She makes the assumption that she thought Jeselnik’s new show would be like his old one. Jeselnik is quick to point out the line of thinking as ridiculous since the previous one was cancelled. The entire interaction exemplifies our thoughts on this show, mainly asking why Jeselnik wants to do another late night talk show when he’s been pretty clear he hates TV. Is it one of the great mysteries of the world? Or perhaps the funniest thing Jeselnik can do because it’s least expected of him. And when a comedian like Jeselnik makes his life outta going one direction when everyone thinks the other, well perhaps now is the perfect time for Anthony Jeselnik to lean into TV.
Good Talk premieres on September 6th
