Things got really scary for the cousin of Sebastian Maniscalco. The cousin, whose name is also Sebastian Maniscalco, was the victim of a home invasion from two masked men earlier this month on April 4th.
Cousin Maniscalco shot and killed a 58 year-old man, Larry Brodacz in self defense after he and Bradley Finnan, 39 forced their way into Maniscalco’s family home in Arlington Heights, IL during an attempted armed robbery attempt. Both robbers were planning to steal $200,000 they thought was inside the home after they saw cash boxes in the house years ago.
The story as described is Maniscalco was waiting for his gardener to return to the house when the two robbers arrived. Maniscalco stumbled outside the front door fighting off Finnan as Brodacz entered the house, made his way up to the second floor of the house breaking through the bedroom door, shoved the children onto the bed, and pointed his gun at Maniscalco’s wife.
Maniscalco managed to chase Finnan off then ran back into the house, retrieved his own gun and fatally shot Brodacz in the abdomen as he was in the bedroom holding his family at gunpoint.
Finnan was later captured and faces murder charges under an Illinois statute that allows for such crimes to be levied against suspects if they take part in a felony offense that leads to another person’s death.
Scary event indeed.
