Will Arnett: Leading Cause Of Unemployment

November 12, 2010      Ilya      Features, News, Television

Running Wilde

I think I am starting a new personal rule…keep Will Arnett as far as humanly possible from any show I like. His newest show Running Wilde with Keri Russell has been on the air, what? Five weeks? And FOX is already planning on removing it temporarily.

The network said it would return the show in December once the super-competitive sweeps weeks are done and Running Wilde’s crappy ratings won’t hurt the network setting ad rates. But let’s be honest this is like when you girlfriend tells you “she wants to take a break.” The end is coming soon.

This is pretty much a concentrated version of what happened to Arrested Development. And this isn’t lightning striking twice, after all do you remember some of Arnett’s previous starring roles in shows like Sit Down, Shut Up and Freak Show.

No? Me either.

Will Arnett’s power of destroying any TV show he touches seems to be more powerful than even Ted McGinley. At least McGinley had the decency to come in towards the end of a series’ life to put the nail in the coffin, it looks like Arnett just goes for the jugular. It’s unfortunate too because Arnett is very talented comedic actor that deserves better than what he’s gotten.
