Stand-up and creator and star of Netflix anti-rom-com Master of None Aziz Ansari stepped into Charlie Rose’s studio to talk about what it’s like to create, control, and star in your very own show.
In particular, Rose asks Ansari about entering the acclaimed show’s second season — where he found inspiration after crafting such a uniquely nuanced first installment, and how he felt he could expand upon the universe he’d created. For his part, Ansari seems excited about the opportunity he’s had to expand even farther beyond his stand-up roots, and he seems hopeful the show will earn a third season on the digital network.
The pair appear to have a great rapport, as they should by now — Ansari has appeared on Charlie Rose five other times since 2013, both as a solo guest and alongside fellow comics like Conan O’Brien and Judd Apatow.
The second season of Master of Noneis now live on Netflix.
