“Bad Santa 2: Badder Santa” becomes one step closer to being a reality

August 1, 2012      Matt Kleinschmidt      Movies, News

The rumors of a sequel to the epic 2003 movie Bad Santa have been in the works for a while. At one point even as many as two different people were working on a screenplay. Well now reports that Accepted and Hot Tub Time Machine director (and High Fidelity screenwriter) Steve Pink is in to talks to add some rewrites to one of those original two screenplays, specifically, the one by Johnny Rosenthal.

In 2009, Billy Bob Thorton did confirm that he would return in the role of Stokes and the film is eyed to be released in December 2013 with the plot featuring Stokes getting out of sensitivity training to regroup with Sue (Lauren Graham) and Thurman Merman.

It might serve to point out that we’re closing in on the 10th anniversary of the film’s original release. So maybe a decade will the be magic number for Bad Santa 2: Badder Santa.
