At the end of 2020 Comedy Central dropped all of its original programming from its SiriusXM channel including the wildly popular show The Bonfire hosted by Big Jay Oakerson and Dan Soder.
This left the show without a home on the airwaves and plenty of fans wondering if it was the end. Almost immediately theories about the duo’s future were tossed around, including it moving to a different SiriusXM channel, becoming a Youtube show, or even a podcast.
Oakerson and Soder even filmed a few episodes of a weekly Youtube show called The Orphan Tapes out of the GaS Digital studios to hold people over. During those tapes, the comedians gave fans updates on contract negotiations, most recenly rrevealing that the deal points were agreed upon and they felt they’d be back on SiriusXM by March 1st. They also alluded to wanting some new contractual things like video of the show and the ability to sell some merch.
Tonight on the Legion of Skanks livestream, Oakerson revealed that The Bonfire deal was done and the show has a new home on SiriusXM Faction Talk channel 103. The comedian also stated that show would indeed return to the air March 1st with episodes 4 times a week Monday – Thursday from 5-7pm, taking the spot recently vacated by Jason Ellis.
Crackle Crackle.
UPDATE 2/24/21: It’s been a couple of days but this news was officially confirmed by the show with a new image on social media with the details.
