Bill Hader explains Stefon to David Letterman

February 18, 2011      Matt Kleinschmidt      Bill Hader, John Mulaney, Saturday Night Live, Television, The Late Show

Bill Hader Stefon Letterman

If you’ve read any of our recaps of Saturday Night Live, you know we love the John Mulaney written, Bill Hader acted character of Stefon, the city night life correspondent on Weekend Update.

Hader got the chance to tell David Letterman exactly how he cannot seem to stop laughing at the character and keep it together during both the dress and live performances. Turns out, we were half right on our theory, Mulaney does let Hader read the script before he gets behind the camera, but last minute changes are often put in there to toss Hader for a loop.

Watch Hader explain it, he can’t even keep a straight face talking about it as he also gives dap to Mulaney.

And Mulaney’s take.
