SiriusXM announced today that it will exclusively premiere the uncut version of stand-up comedian Bill Hicks’ influential album Rant In E- Minor on SiriusXM’s Comedy Greats channel.
SiriusXM’s Comedy Greats will air the album, originally recorded on 10/24/1993, in its entirety on Friday, April 1 at 3:00 pm ET. The world premiere of the uncut version of Bill Hicks’ album Rant In E-Minor: Variations will mark the first time the entire show has been heard since the original performance. To date, the album has only been available in a much-curtailed version with comedic segments separated by music.
Prior to the broadcast of the album, SiriusXM will also air an exclusively-produced special audio documentary about Bill Hicks and the album hosted by SiriusXM’s Ron Bennington. Bill Hicks: A Life In Comedy will include interviews with Dave Attell, Judah Friedlander, Bob Saget, Barry Crimmins, Tom Rhodes, Ron White, Paul Provenza and Margaret Cho.
“Bill Hicks is one of the most important comedic voices of our generation, and his jokes and indictments seem as relevant and important today as they ever did,” said Jack Vaughn, Senior Vice President, Comedy Programming, SiriusXM. “We’re really excited to be able to have our listeners be the first to hear this amazing uncut show.”
