Bill Murray infiltrates The White House press room, talks about the Cubs

October 21, 2016      Matt      Bill Murray, News

Bill Murray in The White House

Today The White House press corps was treated with a drop in from the one and only – perhaps mythical creature – that is Bill Murray. The press corps was hanging around after a briefing from House Press Secretary Josh Earnest when Murray literally just appeared out of nowhere in the West Wing briefing room. Murray then “held court” with journalists in the room, fielded questions, and made suggestions such as replacing the coffee machine with an ice luge. By all accounts he was being very Bill Murray about the entire brief situation.

Now, we might ask why the hell is Bill Murray in the The White House? It might have something to do with him receiving the Mark Twain prize for humor. Murray showed CNN the award, saying, “he gave me this,” displaying the face of the award and joking that it was “Lincoln’s cousin.” President Obama is scheduled to award Murray with the award this Sunday, but Murray is a big Cubs fan and they have a big game that night so perhaps he’s planning on supporting his team that night.
